Medik-Link is giving back to the community with a donation of 6 Philips Respironics ventilators which are made up of 5 units of V60 Plus and 1 unit of Trilogy EV300 to Ministry of Health (MOH) to support Cat 4 & 5 Covid patients who require respiratory support at various government hospitals.
The needs of ventilation for critical Covid-19 patients can last up to 2-3 weeks. Noting Covid-19 patients may experience quick deterioration and there are other non-covid patients who may be admitted to the hospitals needing ventilation support.
Recognising that there are donors who would like to contribute but are not sure what equipment is needed, which hospitals are in need and also the process of donation, Medik-Link has communicated with respective hospitals and departments to facilitate the donation directly to hospitals.
“Highest gratitude not only to the frontliners who have been tirelessly working and sacrificing throughout this ordeal but everyone affected. Please do know, Malaysia is with you”, said Group’s managing director, Foong Kam Seng.
“Other than following SOPs, we are glad to be able to extend a show of our support with this initiative”, he said.
Medik-Link is offering up to 20% off for ventilators to all interested donors under this donation campaign. Medik-Link hopes this initiative together with generous donors is able to relieve the strain of equipment for all hospitals, especially the full and hybrid covid hospitals in Malaysia.
“Other than ventilators, we also see there is an increased demand for 02 concentrators for in and out of hospital use, as well as other equipments like portable ultrasound devices and neonatal critical items like warmer, incubator and phototherapy as there is a need to separate the equipments used for Covid-19 from non-Covid patients to minimize cross infection”.
